Diary Entry # 11: On Our Own
February 21, 2005
Dear Diary,
I'll make this short, but sweet today. Yesterday we were left completely on our own, as loyal owner took off for somewhere right after breakfast. We had complete run of the house and yard, but supper time came and went without our gourmet meal being presented to us.
The television was on, as usual, so that we could watch something entertaining, PBS, in loyal owner's absence. It also provided much-needed light when the outside light disappeared at 7:00 p.m.
We had plenty of our crunchy snacks available and our two huge bowls of water, but where was our dinner? We were rewarded with out vigilant guard duty by loyal owner arriving home at 7:30 p.m. with a bag from McDonald's, the usual guilt gift.
Not only did we receive our usual dinner, but also we received a tasty hamburger each, a chew stick each, and lots of love an attention, as was expected after we had dutifully slept all day, in and out of the house.
Congratulations, loyal owner, for a job well done.
Signed with contentment,
Ashley, lady greyhound former professional racer, best friend of Abel
