Diary Entry #8: Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon
January 9, 2005
Dear Diary,
We are both writing today to explain our newest training maneuver.
We call it the "I go out, then I come in; you go out, then you come in." dance routine, ala Fosse and Verdon.
We suddenly found ourselves totally ignored by loyal owner this afternoon, even after taking out at least 6 favorite throwing/catching toys and placing them at various strategic spots on the huge lawn. Loyal owner never got the hint, so we devised the new dance routine, as dinner was now an hour late. Loyal owner got tired of opening and closing the door for both of us, separately of course, which was the devious plan from the beginning.
Results: Dinner was immediately prepared then placed before us, and it included at least 16 pieces of popcorn chicken for each of us, heated to a nice crispy temperature, along with our usual gourmet meal. Again, our study of Broadway choreography and dance history has proven an effective training tool. We were even given our usual, albeit shorter, play time outside, catching and retrieving our favorite toys. We may have to have costumes made to go with this routine. There's no business like show business. Shall we dance?
Sincerely in step with each other,
Ashley and Abel
